About Dr Railene Naidoo

Dr Railene Naidoo is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist driven by a lifelong passion for helping people, inspired by her mother’s dedication as a matron. Dr Naidoo’s journey began at Stellenbosch University Medical School, where she overcame challenges to pursue her love for medicine.

After completing her internship at Victoria Hospital and her community service at Greenpoint Community Clinic and Vanguard Trauma Unit, Dr Naidoo discovered her calling in obstetrics and gynaecology while training at Mowbray Maternity Hospital under the guidance of Professor Sue Fawcus.

She specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology through the University of KwaZulu-Natal while balancing her studies and raising three children. During this time, she gained extensive experience working in some of the largest government hospitals in KwaZulu-Natal and obtained lecturing status at the University of KZN, where she contributed to the education of her peers and future medical professionals.

Relocating to Johannesburg, Dr Naidoo joined Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where she further honed her skills and gained immense confidence. Transitioning to private practice to balance her professional and family commitments, she now practises at Netcare Garden City Hospital.

Dr Naidoo brings a fresh, patient-centred approach to women’s healthcare. She values interactive patient relationships, offers a wide range of options, and stays up to date with the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynaecology.
