About
Dr Farouk Hassen is a senior lecturer and esteemed cardiologist practising alongside his son in Berea. With a rich academic and clinical background, Dr Hassen has extensive experience in the field of cardiology. He earned his MBChB from the University of Natal and his Fellowship from the College of Physicians of South Africa. He also completed a BSc (Honours) at McMaster University in Canada, where he excelled in Organic Chemistry, Genetics, Zoology, and Physics.
Dr Hassen has held numerous academic positions, including a senior lecturer role in the Department of Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Natal and a consultant cardiologist at King Edward VIII Hospital. After further specialised training, Dr Hassen transitioned into private practice in 1991, where he continues to provide expert care in cardiology.
