Description

Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) South Africa

About the ICPA

The Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) was founded in May 2011, following the merger of United South African Pharmacies (USAP), the SA Progressive Pharmacy Association (SAPPA), and independent community pharmacy owners unaffiliated with either of these groups. The aim was to create a united voice for independent pharmacies, ensuring collective strength in advocating for the interests of members at all levels—government, medical schemes, pharmaceutical suppliers, and importantly, the consumer. This diverse network allows ICPA to provide support and a unified presence in the healthcare space.

The ICPA’s mission is centred around the future sustainability of independent, owner-managed pharmacies, advocating for their recognition and the critical role they play in delivering healthcare services to local communities.
