Jessica Cheesman Educational Psychologist Parklands provides support for children, adolescents, and adults with learning barriers and emotional challenges.
Jessica Cheesman is a qualified Educational Psychologist with a Masters degree in Educational Psychology (Cum Laude) from Stellenbosch University. She is also a qualified Foundation Phase teacher, with further qualifications from the University of Cape Town and UNISA. In addition, she is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Jessica supports clients with learning barriers such as dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional challenges. Her work focuses on creating a safe and supportive space. As a result, clients and families can feel heard and empowered.
Jessica offers a range of assessments and therapy services for different learning, emotional, and developmental needs. These services include:
Jessica also provides Talk Therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. These sessions offer emotional support and a space for personal growth. Furthermore, she provides ADHD Support, including ADHD-focused therapy, social groups for tweens through Lego Legends, executive skills support, and parental guidance.
Jessica is passionate about supporting families of children with ADHD. She created the ADHD Insight website to provide resources and knowledge to the South African ADHD community. She also runs teacher and parent workshops. These workshops focus on supporting learners with ADHD and managing stress.
Jessica uses an asset-based therapy approach. This approach focuses on the strengths and resources within the learner, family, school, and community. Therefore, her work aims to help clients reach their full potential. She also provides Parental Guidance & Support, offering strategies and support for parents of children with ADHD and other learning challenges.
