Dr Jonathan Cohen

Dr Jonathan Cohen, a Cape Town native, matriculated from Herzlia High School in 1981 and qualified as a dentist in 1987 at Stellenbosch University. He spent two years practising in the SADF, managing several dental surgeries in the Northern Cape.

In 1990, he opened his first private practice in Cape Town’s city centre, followed by the Milnerton practice in 1994 alongside Dr David Sheinbar. Since 1999, he has dedicated himself exclusively to the Milnerton practice.

Dr Cohen holds a postgraduate diploma in Paediatric Dentistry from Stellenbosch University and has trained undergraduate students in the field. He has a special interest in paediatric dentistry and lives in Milnerton with his wife Sharyn and their two children, Alex and Zac. He is also actively involved in coaching junior soccer in the Table View area.

Dr David Sheinbar – President of BNI Ratanga Chapter

Dr David Sheinbar was born in Cape Town and matriculated at Herzlia High School. He earned his Dentistry degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1988. After graduating, he served as a Medical Lieutenant at 2 Military Hospital in Wynberg while newly married to his wife, Mandy. They have three children: Michaela, Nathan, and Devin.

In 1990, he established his first private practice in Cape Town’s city centre and co-founded the Milnerton practice in 1994 with Dr Jonathan Cohen. He later completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Dentistry at Stellenbosch University in 2003, qualifying with distinction. His key interests include Implants, Endodontics, and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr Sheinbar is committed to preventing tooth structure damage caused by grinding and chemical erosion from acidic drinks. He is also actively involved in the development of a mandibular repositioning device designed to reduce snoring in 80% of sufferers. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys golf, running, gym, music, gardening, and supporting his sons in their sporting activities.
