André de Villiers Orthodontist Oranjezicht and his team have extensive experience in orthodontic care with a strong academic background. Dr de Villiers can manage challenging orthodontic cases. He creates a personal treatment plan for patients.
Dr de Villiers earned his BChD from the University of Stellenbosch. He then completed specialist training at the Forsyth Dental Centre in Boston, USA. He obtained a Certificate in Orthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Forsyth Dental Centre. In 1988, he earned a Master of Medical Science degree from Harvard Medical School.
Early orthodontic checks can identify crowding and bite problems in children as young as seven. Children may not always need treatment right away. An early check helps the team plan future care.
For adults, it is never too late to improve a smile. Even without braces as a teenager, adults can still correct their bite. They can choose metal braces or clear braces, depending on their preference.
Metal braces are the most common option. They use high-grade stainless steel for durability and effectiveness. Clear braces use a translucent material and offer a more discreet option. However, the elastic ties over the brackets may discolour over time. The team can change these ties at each visit.
Orthodontic care is an investment, so offers flexible payment plans. Treatment costs depend on the complexity and length of treatment. Patients receive a customised treatment plan with a detailed cost estimate.
Patients can pay monthly or upfront. Upfront payment comes with a discount. After the initial consultation and records assessment, emails patients a personalised treatment plan and cost estimate. The team also discusses payment options that suit each budget.
Beyond private practice, Dr de Villiers is part of the teaching team at the University of the Western Cape’s Postgraduate Orthodontic Programme. He is also a member of the South African Society of Orthodontists (SASO) and American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). In addition, he is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Dr André de Villiers and his team look forward to helping patients achieve a confident, healthy smile. Contact the practice today to schedule a consultation.
