Epstein Hunt Physiotherapy – Fairvale

About Us

At Epstein Hunt Physiotherapy, we are committed to providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals of all ages. Our team is led by highly skilled physiotherapists, each with a special interest in unique therapeutic approaches such as Aquatic Therapy and Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT), allowing us to offer holistic and tailored treatments to our patients.

Our clinic is led by Perla Epstein, a passionate physiotherapist with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Wits. Perla is a member of the AQPG and has completed the MAES course, with plans to further her education in aquatic therapy and cerebral palsy treatment. Perla believes in empowering children to unlock their full potential through innovative and creative therapy techniques, particularly in the water, where she witnesses remarkable progress every day.

Joining Perla is Sasha Hunt, a qualified physiotherapist with a special interest in aquatic therapy and geriatric health. Sasha’s evidence-based, hands-on approach ensures that every patient reaches their highest functional level, whether through musculoskeletal rehabilitation or aquatic therapy. Sasha aims to complete her OMT special interest course in the near future.

Daniella Gruber is another passionate member of our team, specialising in aquatic therapy for both children and the elderly. With a hands-on, compassionate approach, Dani’s goal is to create a fun yet goal-oriented environment for her patients, helping them achieve independence in their daily activities.

Keren Swartz, a young and energetic physiotherapist, shares the same enthusiasm for paediatric care and aquatic therapy. Keren’s future objectives include furthering her studies in paediatrics and completing her Watsu qualification.

Together, we provide a supportive and dedicated approach to treatment, focusing on patient-centred care that promotes long-term recovery and well-being.

Our Services

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy is a highly effective form of rehabilitation that utilises the therapeutic properties of water. Performed in warm water, aquatic therapy facilitates muscle relaxation, increased blood circulation, and the ability to perform exercises with reduced pain and pressure on joints. The water temperature is maintained at an ideal therapeutic level of 30-33°C, ensuring optimal healing conditions. The buoyancy of water also reduces gravitational forces, making it easier for patients to perform strength-building exercises and stretching routines.

Aquatic therapy is beneficial for various medical conditions, especially those involving muscle weakness or joint pain. By using water resistance, patients can strengthen muscles more effectively, improving mobility and flexibility.

Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT)
Neurodevelopmental therapy focuses on enhancing motor control in individuals with neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy, stroke, or brain injuries. NDT is a hands-on treatment approach that promotes the development of coordination, balance, postural control, and gross motor skills. Through this method, we help patients improve movement patterns, build strength, and achieve better physical function. The therapy is conducted in a relaxed, fun atmosphere, making it particularly beneficial for children and individuals with complex neurological conditions.

Physiotherapy
Our general physiotherapy services aim to enhance quality of life by reducing pain, improving movement, and restoring physical function. Whether you are recovering from an injury or managing a long-term condition, our skilled physiotherapists evaluate and treat a range of physical challenges. We focus on improving mobility, muscle strength, and endurance, ensuring patients regain independence in their daily activities. Our physiotherapy services are available for all age groups, from babies to the elderly, with treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
