Nicole Comninellis is a dedicated paediatric physiotherapist with a passion for helping children reach their full potential. She graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013. After falling in love with paediatric physiotherapy during her studies, Nicole completed her community service year at Red Cross Children’s Hospital, which greatly influenced her career. She later worked at a special needs school for over five years.
In addition to her practical experience, Nicole earned a MSc in Medicine in Child Health (neurodevelopment) at WITS, with research focusing on gross motor function, surgical intervention, and academic performance in children with cerebral palsy. Nicole is one of only eight certified neonatal therapists in South Africa.
Nicole remains deeply committed to ongoing professional development, regularly reading the latest research and attending relevant courses. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her children, and indulging in hobbies such as fine dining and baking.
Nicole offers expert paediatric physiotherapy services for children from neonates to adolescents. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual child’s needs.
Nicole is one of only eight certified neonatal therapists in South Africa. She provides specialised care for newborns, particularly those born prematurely or with developmental issues, helping them improve motor skills and overall development.

For children recovering from traumatic events, Nicole provides physiotherapy to restore function and mobility. She also assists with applying for Trauma Recovery Extender Benefits (TREB) through Discovery Health, covering physiotherapy and recovery aids.
Nicole helps children recover from surgeries or musculoskeletal injuries. She ensures safe and effective rehabilitation to regain strength, flexibility, and mobility.
Nicole offers rehabilitation for sports injuries, focusing on strength, flexibility, and proper movement patterns to prevent further injury and enhance performance.
Nicole’s research, which focuses on gross motor function and academic performance in children with cerebral palsy, enhances her ability to treat complex neurodevelopmental conditions effectively.

Nicole’s practice is experienced in helping Discovery Health members apply for the Trauma Recovery Extender Benefit (TREB). This benefit covers physiotherapy and external devices like wheelchairs and ambulation aids after traumatic injuries.
Nicole works closely with families to ensure each child’s treatment plan is effective and supportive of their home environment. She is dedicated to providing compassionate care for both children and their families.
