Michelle Tolmay Dietitian Kings Park helps people build healthier lifestyles through balanced nutrition. As a Registered Dietitian, I am passionate about guiding individuals toward better eating habits. I earned a BSc Medical Honours Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Cape Town, after completing my undergraduate studies in Human Kinetics & Ergonomics (HKE) and Psychology at Rhodes University. To expand my expertise, I also obtained a Diploma in Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee. My primary focus includes general healthy eating, sports nutrition, disordered eating, and DNA-based nutrition.
Proper nutrition fuels performance, enhances endurance, and improves recovery. My background in Human Kinetics sparked my passion for sports nutrition, showing me how food directly impacts exercise and athletic success. After completing my dietetics degree, I specialized further by earning an IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition. I don’t just talk about fitness—I live it. As a qualified spinning and kettlebell instructor, I understand firsthand how nutrition and training go hand in hand. In addition, I completed a short course on exercise prescription for chronic diseases and special populations at Witwatersrand University.
Food should feel nourishing, not restrictive. I emphasize a balanced approach that encourages enjoyment, satisfaction, and well-being. Healthy eating isn’t about counting calories—it’s about choosing nutrient-dense foods that support both physical and mental health. My approach follows intuitive eating principles, focusing on what feels good rather than rigid rules. To deepen my understanding, I completed additional training in emotional eating, binge eating, and bulimia nervosa. With the right guidance, anyone can build a healthier relationship with food.
Everyone’s body responds differently to food, and your DNA holds the key to optimizing your health. Advanced DNA testing reveals personalized insights into how genetics influence metabolism, nutrient absorption, and disease risk. With this knowledge, I create targeted nutrition and lifestyle strategies that help prevent chronic conditions and improve overall well-being. To stay at the forefront of this science, I am currently enrolled in the Manuka Nutrigenomics course.
Improving your health starts with informed choices. Whether you need sports nutrition guidance, support for disordered eating, or a customized DNA-based nutrition plan, I provide evidence-based strategies that fit your lifestyle. Let’s work together to create sustainable habits that empower you to feel your best every day.
