About Siobhán Sweeney

Dr Siobhán Sweeney (PhD) is a highly experienced Counselling Psychologist offering services in Claremont and Rondebosch, Cape Town. She holds registrations with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF).

Siobhán completed her Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours Degree with Distinction at the University of Cape Town. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at Rhodes University, also with distinction. Her clinical training included placements at the Rhodes Psychology Clinic and the Rhodes University Counselling Centre. Additionally, she conducted clinical research on Alzheimer’s and provided corporate counselling, helping individuals navigate social and occupational challenges.

To expand her expertise, Siobhán obtained a diploma in Therapeutic Communication with Children and Adolescents through the Institute of Psychodynamic Child Psychotherapy (IPCP) and the Tavistock Clinic in London.
