Extensive Surgical Experience and Qualifications

Dr.Hannington has gained invaluable experience working in both Gauteng and Cape Town. His passion for general surgery led him to obtain the Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa (FCS SA) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2021. Moreover, he completed his Master’s in Medicine (MMed) at UCT in 2022.

Furthermore, he pursued an international Master’s in Surgery (ChM) at the University of Edinburgh, completing the rigorous two-year program while simultaneously advancing his career in Cape Town.

Dr.Hannington lives in Cape Town with his wife, Michelle, a lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences at UCT. They have two sons, Nate and Finn. Outside the operating room, he is a dedicated sports enthusiast, actively engaging in golf, touch rugby, padel, and scuba diving.

Surgical Procedure Fees

The cost of surgical procedures depends on:

• The type of procedure
• The patient’s medical aid coverage
• The hospital where the procedure takes place

If authorization is required, our office will assist in coordinating with your medical aid provider.

Payment and Medical Aid Support

• If a co-payment is necessary, you will be notified before the procedure. This must be settled before hospital admission.
• In most cases, invoices will be submitted directly to medical aid providers.
• For patients without medical aid, we can provide a cost estimate for procedures.
• Dr. Hannington’s invoice includes only his surgical fees. Patients should also consider fees for the anaesthetist and hospital services.
