Dr Sulaiman Heylen Fertility Specialist, Claremont is a distinguished Fertility Specialist and the Chairman of Cape Fertility in Claremont, Cape Town. With an impressive career spanning several decades, he has significantly advanced reproductive medicine in South Africa. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Cum Laude) in 1984 and his Medical Doctor degree (Maxima Cum Laude) in 1988 from K.U.Leuven, Belgium. He performed South Africa’s first laparoscopic tubal re-anastomosis and, in collaboration with the embryology team, achieved the country’s first Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) pregnancy in 2003. Additionally, he serves as a part-time consultant at the University of Cape Town, where he trains fellows in Reproductive Surgery.
