Parveen Abedin Obstetrics & Gynaecology Birmingham is led by Miss Abedin, a consultant who brings extensive experience and advanced training. She completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Birmingham. Furthermore, she enhanced her skills in laparoscopic surgery at several leading UK centres. To expand her expertise, she completed a travelling fellowship in the United States, focusing on robotic surgery.
Miss Abedin specialises in diagnosing and treating gynaecological cancers. In particular, she focuses on laparoscopic surgery. She regularly performs procedures such as ovarian cyst removal and keyhole hysterectomies. Additionally, she manages conditions like endometriosis and pelvic pain with precision and care. Her clinical interests also include menstrual disorders, heavy bleeding, and menopause-related concerns.
Beyond her clinical role, Miss Abedin actively contributes to medical research. She supervises multiple research projects and serves as the local Principal Investigator for the RoCKets study, which focuses on ovarian cancer testing. Moreover, she has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and authored a book for the MRCOG examination. Her commitment to education doesn’t stop there—she also works as a Senior Clinical Examiner at Birmingham University and examines for the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
Miss Abedin offers a wide range of gynaecological procedures. These include laparoscopic hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, cervical biopsies, and complex open pelvic surgeries. She also provides treatment for abnormal cervical smears, hormone replacement therapy, and screening for gynaecological cancers. Additionally, she supports patients with infertility, irregular periods, PCOS, vulvodynia, and chronic pelvic pain.
Patients trust Miss Abedin for her honest communication, skilled hands, and patient-focused approach. She listens carefully, explains options clearly, and tailors every treatment to the individual.
