About Shenley Leisure Centre

Shenley Leisure Centre has served the Milton Keynes community since it opened in September 1991. Located beside Denbigh School near the Shenley Church End Local Centre, the leisure centre offers a popular venue for health, fitness, and social activities.

Buckinghamshire County Council initially managed the centre and linked it with Woughton Leisure Centre. After local government reorganisation, Milton Keynes Council took over its management. In 1998, the centre gained independent Charitable Trust status. Since then, a Senior Management Team and a Board of Trustees, including representatives from Milton Keynes Council, Denbigh School Governors, Shenley Church End and Loughton Parish Councils, as well as local users, have run it.

The centre aims to deliver an inclusive range of health and wellbeing initiatives that meet the community’s needs. It focuses on providing a clean, safe, and enjoyable leisure experience for everyone.

Services

Shenley Leisure Centre offers a wide range of facilities and activities to suit all users:

• Fitness and Exercise: The centre provides gym equipment and diverse fitness classes suitable for all ages and abilities. These activities promote physical health and wellbeing.
• Social and Community Activities: It hosts local events, group activities, and social gatherings that foster community spirit.
• Bar and Hospitality: Visitors can enjoy refreshments in the onsite bar, which creates a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere after workouts or during social visits.
• Golf Simulators: The centre will soon introduce golf simulators, offering an exciting new way to enjoy golf regardless of the weather.

The centre actively ensures its facilities remain accessible to people with various needs, fostering an inclusive environment for all.

Shenley Leisure Centre operates as a charitable trust and encourages community involvement. It invites users to contribute to its development and support.

Currently, the centre seeks to expand its team with passionate individuals. It offers vacancies for Trustees, bar staff, and operational staff. Roles include customer care, equipment setup, cleaning, reception duties, and bar work. Since the golf simulators will soon open, candidates with a passion for golf will have an advantage.
