Carryn is a registered social worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). She is also a member of SAASWIPP and works under contract with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF).

She has extensive experience with child welfare organisations, child and youth care centres, and schools across the East Rand. As a result, she has worked with children, teenagers, families, and other vulnerable people in different care settings.

Carryn also works as a lecturer at Humanitas Training. There, she specialises in trauma and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. In addition, she supervises students who complete their practical social work placements.
