About Celia Mutti Physiotherapy Claremont

Celia Mutti Physiotherapy Claremont provides professional, evidence-based physiotherapy care, with 43 years of experience in the field. I, Celia Mutti, graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1980 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. I then completed my MSc in Orthopaedics at Stellenbosch University in 2005.

For 36 years, I ran my own practice, Celia Smith & Associates, in Cape Town. Now, I continue my passion for physiotherapy under the name Celia Mutti Physiotherapy. I currently offer part-time services in Claremont and also have treatment facilities in Noordhoek.

My main area of expertise is orthopaedic physiotherapy. I focus on rehabilitation and the correction of biomechanical deficiencies. As a result, I help patients recover from injuries, improve their movement, and manage pain through treatments that suit their individual needs.

Celia Mutti Physiotherapy Claremont Services

I provide a wide range of physiotherapy services. In particular, I focus on orthopaedic conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, and pain management. Each treatment plan responds to the patient’s specific needs.

General Physiotherapy Treatments

I have extensive experience treating a range of musculoskeletal problems. These include:

  • Neck and Back Pain: Targeted treatment for spinal discomfort caused by poor posture, muscle strain, or chronic conditions.
  • Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Ankle Pain: Treatment for joint pain, stiffness, and limited range of movement in these important areas.

Each treatment is individualised to meet the patient’s needs. Sessions typically last 45 minutes. In addition, treatment combines hands-on therapy with exercise and mobilisation techniques to support the best possible outcomes.

Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation forms an important part of my practice. Therefore, I help patients work towards returning to full function after an injury or surgery.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

I provide rehabilitation for patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery, including joint replacements and ligament repairs. Treatment helps restore strength, mobility, and function after surgery.

Pain Management and Recovery

Rehabilitation also plays an important role in managing most types of pain, not only after surgery. Treatment includes strengthening exercises, mobility training, and balance work. Together, these approaches help patients improve movement and support their recovery.

With extensive experience in orthopaedic physiotherapy, I provide focused care for patients who need support with pain, movement, rehabilitation, and recovery in Claremont and Noordhoek.
