Our Orthodontist – Dr Damstra

Dr Damstra grew up in Pretoria and qualified as a dentist at the University of Pretoria. While working in private practice, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Dentistry (Cum Laude) and an Honours Degree in Dental Science (Cum Laude) from Stellenbosch University.

He then expanded his orthodontic training through an Advanced Study Programme in Orthodontics for International Dentists at New York University (NYU). He also earned a Master of Science degree (Odontology) from the University of Pretoria.

After that, Dr Damstra completed specialist orthodontic training at the University Medical Centre Groningen in the Netherlands. He successfully defended his thesis on 3D imaging in orthodontics and earned a Doctorate Degree in Medical Science (PhD) from the University of Groningen.

Furthermore, he remains active in research. He has authored and co-authored 20 international scientific papers and articles. He also serves as a reviewer for several renowned orthodontic journals.
