About

Dr Abdul-Basit Booley, BChD (UWC), PDD Orthodontics (UWC), MSc Orthodontics (Warwick UK), MSc Dental Lasers (UniGe Italy), PDD Implantology (UWC), has been practising dentistry since graduating from the University of the Western Cape in 1991. He ran his own practice until 2004 before relocating to the UK, where he worked in a mixed NHS/private practice while completing his MSc in Orthodontics at Warwick University, which he passed with distinction in 2010. He served as an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow in Orthodontics at Warwick University until 2016.

In 2012, Dr Booley became an Associate Fellow at the World Class Laser Institute and, in 2014, became the first South African dentist to achieve a master’s in Laser Dentistry from the University of Genoa, Italy. In 2015, he returned to Cape Town and earned a postgraduate diploma in Implantology at UWC.

Since joining the Kromboom Dental team in 2015, Dr Booley has specialised in Orthodontics and Laser Dentistry. He also serves as a Dental Laser consultant at UWC, contributing to ongoing research.
