About Roy Richard-Huson Dentist uMhlanga

Dr Roy Richard-Huson originally comes from Cape Town and graduated with a B.Ch.D in Dentistry from the University of Stellenbosch in 1996. After qualifying, he moved to the United Kingdom. There, he worked at a dental practice near Cambridge for four years before becoming the principal dentist.

In 2008, Dr Richard-Huson joined a leading cosmetic practice in the Harley Street area of London. He worked with Dr Joe Oliver, a world-leading cosmetic dentist to celebrities. As a result, he gained specialist experience in cosmetic dentistry, including high-profile treatments featured on BBC’s 10 Years Younger.

Dr Richard-Huson returned to South Africa in 2010 and established Silver Oaks Dental Clinic in uMhlanga. Since then, he has completed many postgraduate courses, including specialist training in Cosmetic Dentistry and Implantology.

Dr Richard-Huson focuses on creating and improving smiles with advanced cosmetic dentistry techniques. In addition, he is one of the few dentists in South Africa who offers cosmetic imaging. This technology lets patients see treatment options digitally without touching their teeth.

He also provides state-of-the-art dental implant treatments. These treatments help restore missing or damaged teeth.

Dr Richard-Huson uses CAD-CAM digital dentistry to create custom crowns and smiles in one visit. His technology includes the CEREC 3D laser scanner and MCXL milling unit.

Therefore, patients can receive custom dental work during a single visit. He also provides general dentistry, including fillings, cleanings and preventive treatments to help maintain good oral health.

He continues to attend postgraduate courses to improve his knowledge and stay at the forefront of modern dental practices. He is a member of the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the British Academy of Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry (BAACD), and the International Team of Implantologists (ITI).

Outside dentistry, Dr Richard-Huson enjoys cycling, triathlons and music. He also values time with his family, including his wife, Cara, and their two sons, Matthew and Aaron.
