Dr Sanjeev Agarwal is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, practising at both the University Hospital of Wales and Spire Cardiff Hospital. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Agarwal specialises in hip and knee surgery, offering advanced treatments for a variety of conditions.
After graduating in medicine, Dr Agarwal became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1999. He trained in Orthopaedics for six years in Leeds, focusing on hip and knee surgery. Dr Agarwal then completed a clinical fellowship in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), one of the leading centres for hip and knee surgery.
In his clinical practice, Dr Agarwal places great emphasis on patient-centred care. His goal is to ensure patients fully understand their treatment options, making informed decisions about their care. He is also an honorary lecturer at Cardiff University and regularly contributes to orthopaedic research, publishing over 25 peer-reviewed papers.
Dr Agarwal offers both primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgeries. His thorough evaluation process ensures that each patient receives the most appropriate treatment plan. He performs over 200 replacements annually, with a track record of zero infections and minimal complications.

Dr Agarwal is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Medical Association. He also examines for the FRCS Orth qualification and helps write exam questions for aspiring orthopaedic surgeons.
Outside of work, Dr Agarwal enjoys tennis, cycling, and outdoor activities. He is also an active supporter of the World Wildlife Fund charity.
