About Dr Thinus van Niekerk

Dr Thinus van Niekerk is a highly skilled and experienced dentist with a passion for modern, life-changing dentistry. He obtained his BChD from the University of Pretoria and further specialised with a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology under the mentorship of Prof André van Zyl.

Since establishing his Ballito practice in 2012 and his Umhlanga practice in 2014, Dr van Niekerk has been committed to revolutionising the dental experience. His practices are at the forefront of digital dentistry, integrating cutting-edge technology and world-class techniques to provide the highest quality dental care.

Dr van Niekerk focuses primarily on dental rehabilitation and implant dentistry. He has trained internationally, attending advanced courses at the University of Bern, the University of Iceland, and the Implantology Institute in Lisbon, Portugal.

Beyond dentistry, Dr van Niekerk is an avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast, spending his time exploring single-track trails, diving the reefs of the North Coast, and travelling Africa. He is married to Lee van Niekerk, and together they have three children – Anah, Leo, and Joah.
