About

Hanlie Snyman is a registered Educational Psychologist, holding accreditation with HPCSA and BHF. Since 2012, she has provided a comprehensive range of assessment and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults. Hanlie obtained her master’s degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Leiden University in The Netherlands, with additional certification in Advanced Psychodiagnostics in Children and Adolescents. After returning to South Africa, she completed her internship with Good Hope Psychological Service (GHPS) in Stellenbosch and Paarl.

Therapy for Adolescents and Young Adults:
    • Addresses academic performance, peer relationships, family dynamics, identity development, and self-esteem. Customised therapeutic approaches include CBT, person-centred therapy, and mindfulness.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)-Based Psychoeducation for Adults:
    • Integrates psychotherapeutic and educational interventions to manage life challenges and improve health-related outcomes.
Therapy for Children:
    • Uses an integrated approach, including CBT, play therapy, child-centred therapy, and narrative therapy. Involves parents and sometimes teachers for optimal outcomes.
Exposure Therapy for Specific Phobias:
    • Gradual and repeated exposure to feared objects or situations to help children manage and overcome specific phobias.
Psychotherapy for Physically Ill Children/Adolescents and Their Families:
    • Provides emotional preparation for surgery and ongoing support for children with serious medical conditions and their families.
Parental Guidance and Support:
