Mike Talbot is a highly experienced Senior Practitioner at the Foot & Leg Centre. He combines a strong scientific background with hands-on therapeutic expertise to help people regain comfort and function in their feet and legs.
Mike began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in 1996, majoring in Microbiology, Immunology, Pharmacology, and Toxicology. Driven by a passion for clinical care, he then completed a Bachelor of Podiatry, graduating Dux of his year in 2000. His knowledge spans both medical science and physical therapy, offering clients a well-rounded approach to treatment.
In addition, Mike holds qualifications in therapeutic massage, sports massage, reflexology, and shiatsu. This wide-ranging skillset allows him to treat complex conditions from multiple angles. Since joining the Foot & Leg Centre in 2005, he has focused on foot mobilisation and manual therapy techniques, with a strong interest in structural and biomechanical challenges.
Mike’s treatment approach is based on Foot Mobilisation Therapy (FMT). This gentle, hands-on technique helps correct joint misalignments in the feet and legs. By restoring proper movement and alignment, clients often experience reduced pain, improved posture, and better mobility.
He treats a wide range of conditions, including:
Plantar fasciitis
Heel and arch pain
Bunion discomfort
Leg alignment problems
Long-standing joint or gait issues
Rather than relying on orthotics or medication, Mike works with the body’s natural mechanics. He also creates individualised corrective exercise plans to support recovery between sessions. These exercises are easy to follow and designed to reinforce the changes made during therapy.
Moreover, his background in various massage disciplines allows him to treat soft tissue restrictions that often contribute to structural issues.
Mike stands out because of his thoughtful, scientific, and hands-on approach. He takes time to assess each client thoroughly, explaining the problem in clear terms. This helps people understand not only their symptoms but also the underlying cause.
Over the years, many clients have turned to Mike after trying other therapies without success. Thanks to his attention to detail and deep understanding of body mechanics, he often helps people achieve results they didn’t think possible.
If you’re looking for lasting relief from foot or leg pain, Mike Talbot offers expert care grounded in both science and skill—without relying on invasive treatments.
