St Francis Care Centre Hospice Boksburg provides compassionate care for patients with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. The centre offers a professional, supportive, and comfortable environment where patients receive care that focuses on their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The hospice specialises in palliative and respite care, helping patients and families receive the support they need during difficult times.
The mission of the team is to provide personalised hospice and palliative care for people facing serious health challenges. Patients stay in a caring environment where comfort, dignity, and support remain a priority. In addition, families receive guidance and emotional support throughout the patient’s journey.
The hospice team works to create a safe space where every patient feels valued and cared for. Through professional care and a compassionate approach, St Francis Care Centre continues to support both patients and their loved ones.
Father Stan Brennan, a Franciscan priest, founded St Francis Care Centre in 1992. During the 1980s, he witnessed the neglect and rejection faced by people affected by HIV/AIDS. Many patients were left without family support and were forced to face their final days alone.
As a result, Father Brennan created St Francis Care Centre as a safe haven where people could receive care, dignity, warmth, and love. His vision continues through the centre’s ongoing commitment to helping those in need.
St Francis Care Centre Hospice Boksburg also provides residential care through its children’s section. This section supports children aged 0-7 years who are affected or infected by HIV/AIDS.
The centre welcomes orphaned or abandoned children and ensures they receive proper nutrition, medical care, and emotional support. Furthermore, the children receive care in a safe and loving environment where their well-being remains the focus.
The hospice provides palliative care for patients living with all life-limiting conditions. The dedicated staff focus on comfort, symptom control, and emotional well-being. They help patients maintain dignity while providing care that meets their individual needs.
In addition, the centre offers respite care for families who need short breaks or time away. Loved ones can feel reassured knowing that patients remain in a safe and supportive environment while receiving professional care.
St Francis Care Centre Hospice Boksburg is a registered Non-Profit Organization that relies heavily on donations from the public and corporate sector. These contributions help the centre continue providing essential care for patients and children.
Supporters can also become an “Angel of Love” by helping bring hope, care, and joy to children affected by HIV/AIDS. Volunteers and donors play an important role in supporting the centre’s mission.
The hospice also benefits from community support, including local businesses and sponsors. Social responsibility initiatives help provide important resources and ensure patients and children continue receiving consistent care. St Francis Care Centre Hospice Boksburg remains committed to creating a safe, loving, and professional environment for everyone it serves.
