Van Rooy Physiotherapy Cape Town provides hands-on physiotherapy, targeted exercises, and professional guidance to support recovery, mobility, and long-term health.
Our team focuses on each patient’s needs and works to improve physical health and wellness. We use hands-on treatment, exercises, and clear advice to help patients manage pain, recover from injury, and stay active. We also support long-term health through practical health promotion advice.
We continue our professional development so we can keep up with new advances in physiotherapy. In addition, our practice follows the guidelines of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP). This helps us provide a high standard of care to our local community and beyond.
We offer treatment for injury recovery, chronic conditions, and general health needs. Our individual treatments include neck and back pain, headaches and shoulder pain, joint pain and arthritis, and rehabilitation after hip and knee replacements.
For neck and back pain, we use hands-on treatment, mobilisations, exercises, and pain management techniques. We also treat the causes of headaches and shoulder discomfort. For joint pain and arthritis, physiotherapy can help reduce pain and improve movement. After hip or knee replacement surgery, we provide rehabilitation to help patients regain strength and mobility.
We treat soft tissue injuries affecting muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Treatment can include joint mobilisation, strapping, and dry needling. We also create rehabilitation and strengthening plans to restore strength, balance, and function after sports injuries.
We use ultrasound, TENS, and laser therapy as part of treatment to help reduce pain and support healing. At Mediclinic Cape Gate, we provide chest physiotherapy and manage acute and chronic chest conditions, including COPD, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchiolitis, and sinusitis.
We provide home and frail care visits for elderly and frail patients in their homes or Retirement Villages. These visits can support mobility, strengthening, and post-operative recovery. We also offer educational talks and demonstrations on ergonomics, back care, and exercise. Talks for elderly individuals focus on strength and mobility, while guidance for children with low muscle tone supports strength and coordination.
We also sell physiotherapy consumables, including strapping and braces, memory foam pillows, exercise balls in various sizes, balance equipment, and exercise bands.
We provide personalised treatment and a holistic approach to healing. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or looking for injury prevention advice, we support you throughout your recovery. We also share health information across different platforms. However, all views expressed are our own and do not represent the HPCSA or any health establishment with which we are affiliated.
