André de Villiers Orthodontist Diep River provides expert orthodontic care in a welcoming environment for children, adolescents and adults. Dr de Villiers has extensive experience and a strong academic background, allowing him to manage even complex orthodontic cases. He creates personalised treatment plans based on each patient’s needs, age and treatment goals.
Dr de Villiers earned his BChD from the University of Stellenbosch. He then completed specialist training at the Forsyth Dental Centre in Boston, USA. In 1988, he obtained a Certificate in Orthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Forsyth Dental Centre. He also earned a Master of Medical Science degree from Harvard Medical School.
Beyond private practice, Dr de Villiers also supports orthodontic education. He forms part of the teaching team at the University of the Western Cape’s Postgraduate Orthodontic Programme. In addition, he belongs to the South African Society of Orthodontists (SASO) and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). He also holds registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Early orthodontic checks can help identify crowding and bite problems in children from as young as seven. However, children may not need treatment straight away. Instead, an early assessment helps Dr de Villiers track dental development and plan treatment at the right time.
It is never too late to improve your smile. Adults can correct bite problems even if they did not have braces as teenagers. Depending on your needs and preference, you can choose traditional metal braces or discreet clear braces.
Metal Braces: Metal braces remain the most common option. They use high-grade stainless steel, which provides durability and effective treatment.
Clear Braces: Clear braces use a translucent material for a more discreet look. The elastic ties around the brackets may discolour over time. However, the team can change these ties during each visit.
Orthodontic treatment is an investment, so the practice offers flexible payment plans. Treatment costs depend on the complexity and length of treatment. Each patient receives a customised treatment plan with a detailed cost estimate.
You can also pay for treatment monthly to help manage your budget. Alternatively, patients who prefer to pay upfront can receive a discount. After the first consultation and records assessment, the team emails a personalised treatment plan and cost estimate. They can also discuss payment options that suit your budget.
Dr de Villiers and his team look forward to helping you achieve a confident, healthy smile. Contact the practice today to schedule your consultation.
