Helen Schultz at Bergvliet Family Practice Bergvliet is a registered Dietitian and Diabetes Educator with a passion for helping individuals achieve better health through nutrition. She graduated with an honours degree in Dietetics from Stellenbosch University (Tygerberg Hospital) in 1999 and has since gained extensive experience in both local and international healthcare settings.
Helen started her career in the UK, specialising in Paediatrics at Newham General Hospital, where she worked closely with multidisciplinary teams and developed a particular interest in supporting young Type 1 Diabetic patients and their families. She later spent years working with Novo Nordisk, a global leader in diabetes care, focusing on patient education, counselling, and support in the areas of Diabetes, Obesity, and Rare Diseases across both private and public healthcare sectors.
Now in private practice, Helen is dedicated to providing tailored nutritional guidance, particularly in weight management, diabetes care, and chronic disease management. She believes in a personalised approach to health and wellness, recognising that every individual’s journey is unique.
Helen’s approach is client-centred, ensuring that each person receives tailored recommendations suited to their lifestyle and health goals. Outside of work, she enjoys quality time with her husband and two sons, as well as cooking, entertaining, staying active, and walking her beloved golden retriever.
