Dr Martin Crots – Surgical Gastroenterologist in Oranjezicht

About Dr Martin Crots

Dr Martin Crots is a highly skilled surgical gastroenterologist with extensive experience in gastrointestinal and hepato-biliary surgery. Since qualifying in 2012, he has developed a reputation for excellence in minimally invasive procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

He earned his MBChB from the University of the Free State in 2002, achieving cum laude for surgery and receiving the prestigious Cornelius Wessels Medal for outstanding performance. After completing his Master’s in Surgery (MMed) in 2009, he pursued a sub-specialisation in gastroenterology, finalising his training in 2011.

Under the mentorship of renowned experts such as Dr Stephen Grobler (colorectal and proctology), Professor Renald Barry, and Dr Casper Troskie (upper gastroenterology and hepato-biliary), Dr Crots honed his expertise. In 2013, he relocated to Cape Town and established his private practice at Mediclinic Cape Town. Just three years later, in 2016, he expanded his services by opening a dedicated endoscopy suite.

Committed to patient-centred care, he prioritises clear communication, personalised treatment plans, and advanced surgical techniques that promote faster recovery.
