Dr Braam Brink is a highly experienced general surgeon based at Mediclinic Constantiaberg in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs. Since 2011, he has been providing expert surgical care, also consulting at Rondebosch Medical Centre and assisting with after-hours calls at Kingsbury Hospital and Vincent Pallotti Hospital.

With extensive experience in a wide range of surgical conditions, Dr Brink specialises in thyroid, breast, and gastrointestinal surgery. He is proficient in both diagnostic and interventional endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Additionally, he has advanced expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) abdominal surgery, offering minimally invasive solutions for many conditions.

Dr Brink’s medical journey began at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 1999, followed by an internship at Helderberg Hospital in Somerset West. After completing his community service year in the surgical department of Victoria Hospital in Wynberg, he remained there as a medical officer in surgery for four more years.

From 2005 to 2009, Dr Brink trained as a surgical specialist at the University of Cape Town, becoming a Fellow of the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2009. He later earned his Master’s degree in Surgery from UCT in 2010. Upon returning to Victoria Hospital in 2009, he was appointed Head of the Department of Surgery. In 2011, he began a part-time private practice at Mediclinic Constantiaberg and, by 2014, transitioned to full-time private practice.

Dr Brink is known for his dedication to patient care, ensuring a professional and compassionate experience for every individual.
