Cikizwa Mafanya Physiotherapist Alberton brings extensive experience and dedication to her role. She joined our practice in 2001 and has since become a key partner. Cikizwa focuses on providing high-quality care for her patients, ensuring that each one receives personalized attention and effective treatment.
Cikizwa holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, which she earned in 1998 from the University of the Western Cape. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy in 2010. Additionally, she completed a post-graduate diploma in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (OMT1) in 2005. In 2016, she earned a Certificate in Pain Management to enhance her expertise in treating chronic pain.
Her qualifications reflect her commitment to advancing her skills and staying up-to-date with the latest physiotherapy techniques. Cikizwa regularly attends courses to learn new methods and approaches, ensuring she offers the most effective treatments.

She has a particular interest in sports-related injuries, which she treats with a personalized, evidence-based approach. She also focuses on intensive care and pain management. For four years, Cikizwa chaired the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Group. In this role, she helped advance rehabilitation practices for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Her contributions have significantly impacted the growth and development of physiotherapy in South Africa.
When not treating patients or mentoring future physiotherapists, Cikizwa enjoys spending time with her family. She also attends the gym regularly, where she enjoys swimming as part of her weekly routine. Cikizwa continues to grow her knowledge of pain management, regularly reading current research to stay at the forefront of her field.
