Peace of Mind Psychology – Birmingham

About

Peace of Mind Psychology is a trusted psychological therapy service based in Birmingham, led by Dr Jodie Fellows, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over two decades of experience. She has supported people of all ages across various NHS and private settings. However, her current focus is on helping adults and young people aged 16 and over.

Dr Fellows qualified as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology in 2008. Since then, she has developed a special interest in supporting those affected by psychological trauma. These include experiences such as abuse, bullying, or ongoing emotional distress. Her approach is warm, respectful, and always tailored to the unique needs of each client.

In addition to her clinical work, she is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and remains actively involved in research and teaching. Dr Fellows is also an accredited practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and has training in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Services

Peace of Mind Psychology offers a wide range of therapeutic services, all of which are grounded in evidence-based practice. The goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

  • Psychological Trauma and PTSD Treatment
Dr Fellows works extensively with individuals recovering from trauma, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as chronic stress situations such as domestic violence or high-pressure occupations. Therapy focuses on helping clients process these experiences and regain a sense of control.

  • Health Psychology Support
Many people struggle with the emotional impact of long-term health conditions. Dr Fellows has worked with clients managing HIV, respiratory illnesses, cancer, and rare dermatological conditions such as Epidermolysis Bullosa. She also supports individuals with voice-related conditions that may make traditional therapy challenging.

  • Evidence-Based Psychological Interventions
Each therapeutic plan is guided by national best practices and shaped around individual goals. Interventions include EMDR, CAT, and IFS, depending on the client’s needs.

  • Client-Centred and Outcome-Focused Care
Feedback is essential to the therapeutic process. Therefore, client progress is regularly reviewed, and adjustments are made to ensure optimal outcomes. This personalised approach ensures the therapy remains effective and responsive throughout.
