Eating Therapy in Chichester offers a specialist and deeply compassionate space for individuals affected by eating disorders, as well as for those who care for them. Our approach is grounded in the belief that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but a significant and brave first step toward change. We understand how isolating and confusing eating issues can be. Whether you’re struggling personally or supporting someone who is, we are here to provide the guidance and emotional care you need.
Many people arrive at this point feeling overwhelmed or lost. You may be battling with food, body image, or weight. Perhaps you’ve made progress but still feel uncertain, or you’re watching someone you love suffer and want to help. In any case, reaching out is the beginning of a new direction—one rooted in understanding, healing, and growth.
We believe that eating difficulties are rarely just about food. They often reflect deeper emotional pain or communication blocks. Instead of simply managing behaviours, we focus on helping clients uncover and work through the emotional and relational roots of their challenges.
Our counselling is tailored to support each client’s unique emotional experience. We offer the following:
One-to-One Eating Disorder Counselling
We support individuals experiencing anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other disordered eating patterns. Sessions explore emotional triggers, relational patterns, and self-perception to foster insight and long-term change.
Support for Carers and Family Members
Living alongside someone who is struggling with an eating disorder can be incredibly distressing. We offer support for carers, helping them understand what their loved one is going through and how to respond supportively without becoming overwhelmed themselves.
Therapeutic Self-Exploration
Drawing inspiration from reflective questions such as “Who in the world am I?” (Lewis Carroll), our work encourages clients to explore identity, purpose, and the emotional blocks that manifest through food.
A Holistic and Emotional Framework
We guide individuals in transforming silent suffering into expressive healing. Using gentle but effective therapeutic practices, we help shift inward pain outward—where it can be heard, understood, and processed in a healthier way.
Eating disorders often serve as coping strategies for emotional overload. Instead of dismissing these behaviours, we aim to understand what they are trying to express. By addressing the underlying causes, we help clients form healthier relationships with their emotions, their bodies, and the people around them.
Therapy at Eating Therapy is not about fixing what is broken. It is about helping you reconnect with your inner voice, develop emotional resilience, and move forward with renewed clarity. With each session, clients begin to reassemble their personal puzzle—gaining strength, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of possibility.
