Dr Elza Eapen Consultant Psychiatrist London brings over 25 years of dedicated experience to the field of general adult psychiatry. She focuses on treating a broad range of mental health conditions with a commitment to patient-centred care. Her approach combines medical expertise and compassionate understanding, ensuring each patient receives a tailored treatment plan.
As a result of her extensive clinical experience, patients benefit from a depth of knowledge and a personalised therapeutic process. Whether dealing with depression, anxiety, or work-related stress, patients receive practical support and evidence-based treatments.
Dr Elza Eapen treats various psychiatric conditions. These include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia, and work-related stress. Each diagnosis is carefully assessed and managed using a holistic approach. Treatment is never one-size-fits-all, and she designs each care plan to meet specific individual needs.
In addition to psychotherapy, she utilises medication management when clinically appropriate. Importantly, treatment often integrates cognitive behavioural therapy, promoting long-term recovery and resilience.
Dr Eapen holds an MBBS and is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. Her professional affiliations include the Psychopharmacology and Occupational Psychiatry Special Interest Groups, as well as the Independent Doctors Federation.
She is fully registered on the General Medical Council’s specialist register. Furthermore, she is approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and recognised as an approved clinician.
Dr Elza Eapen began her career working alongside the late Professor Linford Rees, former President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. During her tenure as Medical Director of Huntecombe Manor Hospital, she successfully led the institution from 1989 to 1992.
Since then, she has built a thriving private practice in central London. Her work also includes liaison psychiatry, collaborating with colleagues in general hospitals such as the London Clinic.
Dr Eapen believes in creating a collaborative atmosphere. She partners with patients to establish clear, goal-focused treatment plans. Although she often prescribes medication, she prioritises therapy-supported interventions.
Her patients appreciate her dedication, transparency, and empathetic care. Through evidence-based therapies and consistent follow-up, Dr Eapen ensures continuity and quality in every case.
She speaks fluent English, facilitating effective communication and rapport with her diverse patient base. Every consultation is approached with clarity, respect, and professionalism.
