Welcome to Space For Me Counselling Worcester. I am Sarah MacFarlane, a professionally qualified and accredited therapist based in Worcester. I offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and teenagers, both online and in person. This allows me to support clients locally, across the UK, and internationally.
With a warm, non-judgemental, and grounded presence, I aim to create a safe space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. No matter what you bring to the sessions, I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs and goals.
My qualifications include a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, several First Class Honours degrees, and postgraduate qualifications in psychology and education. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Additionally, I hold accreditation from the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
I use an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from many therapeutic models. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness. I also incorporate Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples, and the Gottman Method for couples.
Specialising in trauma, including PTSD and Complex PTSD, I apply trauma-informed techniques such as EFT Tapping and CBT for trauma. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, burnout, relationship difficulties, or trauma, I customise each session to your specific needs. My practice supports both teenagers and adults, meeting you exactly where you are on your healing journey.
I was born in the UK but spent much of my childhood in South Africa. These early experiences shaped my respect for cultural diversity and human complexity, which influence my therapeutic work today.
Before pursuing therapy full-time, I worked as a Compliance Officer in London’s corporate sector. However, my passion for meaningful human connection led me back to study counselling and psychology. Since then, I have worked with the NHS, charities, and now run a successful private practice.
Clients often describe me as warm, insightful, and down-to-earth. I avoid giving superficial advice or remaining silent. Instead, I engage fully with empathy and professionalism to help you create real and lasting change.
If you are seeking compassionate and expert support in Worcester or online, Space For Me Counselling offers a safe and supportive environment for your journey forward.
