Dr Bhaskar Punukollu Consultant Psychiatrist London offers compassionate, expert care in adult mental health and addiction. He brings over a decade of experience, combining evidence-based therapies with a patient-centered approach. He provides personalised care that helps people overcome addiction, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression and trauma.
His tailored approach includes psychotherapy, medication management, and specialised treatment programmes. Moreover, his clients benefit from both his extensive UK experience and international exposure, including a fellowship at UCLA’s Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute.
Dr Punukollu specialises in treating a wide range of mental health conditions. These include alcohol and drug addictions, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety, and depression. He also works with patients suffering from sleep issues and trauma-related disorders.
Because no two patients are alike, Dr Punukollu tailors each treatment plan to suit individual needs. This ensures more effective recovery and improved long-term mental health.
Dr Punukollu offers a 28-day addiction treatment programme that incorporates both medical and psychological support. He uses a combination of medication, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and psychoanalysis. This multi-faceted approach maximises outcomes.
Additionally, he regularly attends international workshops to stay ahead of the latest developments in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
Dr Punukollu trained in Liverpool and the Wirral before completing psychiatric training at Chelsea and Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals. His clinical experience is extensive and spans both private and NHS settings.
From 2011 onwards, he has served as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Nightingale Hospital in London. Until early 2023, he also led NHS addiction services and an ADHD clinic. These dual roles enriched his insight into both general adult psychiatry and specialised addiction treatment.
Dr Punukollu is deeply passionate about helping patients understand their conditions and move forward with confidence. He believes that stigma can block recovery. Therefore, he emphasises psychoeducation and supports patients in replacing negative thought patterns with healthier behaviours.
He engages with patients as partners in recovery. Each session is a step forward, supported by trust, respect, and clinical excellence.
Outside work, Dr Punukollu enjoys travelling across Europe, Asia and the USA. He’s also an avid golfer and enjoys cooking for his family. Despite his busy career, he cherishes spending quality time with his two young children.
