I am a fully qualified Osteopath and Sports Therapist, holding a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathy from The College of Osteopaths and an ITEC qualification in Sports Massage. Because of my lifelong involvement in sports, I understand the physical demands on the body and how important it is to maintain optimal performance.

Claire Bowmar Osteopathy Derby and My Personal Journey

From a young age, I trained rigorously—swimming twice daily and competing at a national level. Alongside that, I ran competitively and, more recently, qualified for national finals in dressage. I’m an active member of the East Midlands Dressage Group and compete regularly whenever time allows.

Interestingly, it was my own equestrian journey that introduced me to osteopathy. I noticed that poor posture was limiting my performance. With osteopathic treatment, I corrected these issues and significantly improved my abilities. This experience ignited my passion to help others through osteopathy.

My practice isn’t limited to athletes. I treat a wide range of patients, from pregnant women to seniors—my oldest patient being 94! Additionally, many people come to me with posture-related pain caused by long hours at a desk. During my own pregnancy and post-operative recovery, osteopathy played a crucial role in reducing pain and speeding up my healing. These personal experiences have shaped how I approach patient care—with empathy, commitment, and expertise.

Our clinic moved in 2010 from Ash Close to Park Farm Drive, conveniently located behind Park Farm Shopping Centre. It’s easily accessible from all parts of Derby and nearby towns. Plus, there’s ample free parking just 100 meters away.
