Dr Perry completed medical training at St George’s Hospital in London in 1991. After her pre-registration year, she joined the psychiatric training scheme at St George’s. By 1995, she became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Then, she specialized in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Notably, she trained at Oxford, which is internationally recognized for excellence in CBT.

Furthermore, Dr Perry worked with Dr Lynne Drummond at Springfield Hospital’s specialist OCD unit for over two years. This unit now forms part of the national NHS service for severe, treatment-resistant OCD. Additionally, she served as a Locum Consultant at Bethlem Hospital’s OCD inpatient unit, integrated into the Maudsley NHS service.

Dr Perry holds a Diploma in Cognitive Therapy and accreditation from the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). In 2000, she earned her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in psychotherapy (CBT). Then, she joined the specialist register and led the CBT service for City & Hackney in East London NHS Trust. After six years, she transitioned to private practice.

Research Interests and Academic Roles

She acts as an external examiner for the Diploma in Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy at the University of London (St George’s).
