Dr Perry completed medical training at St George’s Hospital in London in 1991. After her pre-registration year, she joined the psychiatric training scheme at St George’s. By 1995, she became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Then, she specialized in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Notably, she trained at Oxford, which is internationally recognized for excellence in CBT.

Furthermore, Dr Perry worked with Dr Lynne Drummond at Springfield Hospital’s specialist OCD unit for over two years. This unit now forms part of the national NHS service for severe, treatment-resistant OCD. In 2000, she earned her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in psychotherapy (CBT). Then, she joined the specialist register and led the CBT service for City & Hackney in East London NHS Trust. After six years, she transitioned to private practice.
