Rachel Jones Consultant Psychiatrist Chelmsford began her career in the NHS in 1993. Over two decades, she progressed through various senior positions and became a consultant psychiatrist in 2005. Between 2005 and 2007, she served in general adult psychiatry at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. From 2007 to 2013, she worked in forensic psychiatry at The John Howard Secure Hospital in London. In June 2013, she transitioned fully into private practice.
Since leaving the NHS, Dr. Jones has offered expert care in private settings. She joined Priory Hospital Chelmsford and St Edmunds Hospital as a visiting consultant. These partnerships allowed her to provide patients with high-quality care in accessible and supportive environments. Her practice exclusively focuses on adults aged 18–65 with a wide range of psychiatric concerns.
Dr. Jones treats multiple psychiatric conditions. These include depressive disorders, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, personality disorders, and substance misuse. She customises every treatment plan to the individual, ensuring both medical and therapeutic approaches align. Collaborating with psychological therapists enhances treatment success and promotes better outcomes.
Dr. Jones has a notable interest in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). She offers services through The Hormone Clinic, an award-winning centre of excellence. With advanced qualifications, she assesses hormone imbalances and tailors treatment using both body identical and BHRT approaches. These therapies are based on natural hormones that mirror the body’s own chemistry, ensuring a personalised plan for every patient.
Hormonal imbalances affect both men and women, often with severe mental health consequences. Dr. Jones treats perimenopause, menopause, PMS, PMDD, postnatal depression, and hormonal acne in women. For men, her focus includes testosterone deficiency and andropause. These conditions often benefit from BHRT, which addresses both emotional and physical symptoms.
All appointments with Rachel Jones Consultant Psychiatrist Chelmsford are conducted online. This ensures nationwide access to high-quality mental health and hormone therapy support.
