Before joining the Priory Hospital Hayes Grove, Joanna held three part-time positions. She worked as an adult psychological therapist with Central and North West London NHS Trust. These varied roles equipped her to work across all age groups and navigate a wide range of mental health needs.
Joanna’s academic journey began at the University of Sussex, where she earned a BA (Hons) in Philosophy with a focus on cognitive development. She initially worked in the Youth Offending Sector, empowering young people to overcome behavioural and emotional challenges. Recognising the importance of training, she completed several advanced qualifications, including:
Professional Certificate in Youth Justice (Open University, 2008)
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (Open University, 2013)
Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology (University of Coventry, 2015)
Her desire to deepen her therapeutic practice led her to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London in 2019.
