Maria Kapatai Dietitian Surrey provides expert nutritional support with a personal touch. Maria is a registered dietitian working at Life Works since June 2020. She initially joined Priory in July 2019, serving as a dietitian at Mildmay Oaks, a mental health rehabilitation clinic for people with learning disabilities. Maria focuses on helping individuals understand their eating habits and overcome the challenges eating disorders create. Consequently, she empowers them to enjoy fulfilling lives and precious moments with their families.
Before relocating to the UK, Maria worked at a private community centre in Cyprus. There, she supported people facing various health issues such as diabetes mellitus, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and metabolic conditions like dyslipidaemia and high blood pressure. This diverse experience helped her develop a strong foundation in managing complex nutritional needs. Since then, Maria has consistently delivered compassionate and tailored care to her clients in Surrey.
Maria’s training reflects her commitment to excellence. She earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Dietetics and Nutrition after four years of study in Cyprus, completed in 2015. Then, she pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Dietetics, finishing in 2016. Maria also completed specialized training in eating disorders in February 2021. Additionally, she holds a Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems, covering conditions like depression, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD. This qualification reflects her holistic approach to dietetics. Moreover, Maria undertook an Introduction to Mental Health, Eating Disorders, and Learning Disabilities course provided by the British Dietetic Association in November 2020. Currently, she continues to enhance her skills through online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Practitioner Certificate training.
Maria speaks fluent English and Greek, allowing her to connect with diverse communities effectively. She holds professional memberships with the British Dietetic Association and its Mental Health Specialist Group. Furthermore, Maria is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a qualified dietitian. These affiliations ensure she maintains high professional standards and stays updated with the latest research.
