Muriel Hamilton Integrative/Drama Psychotherapist Surrey offers a compassionate, client-centered therapeutic experience grounded in both the arts and clinical science. She is registered with the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), ensuring professional integrity and high standards in all her work. With broad experience in adult and forensic mental health, Muriel supports clients across NHS, private, and voluntary sectors.
Her approach blends psychodynamic principles with person-centred therapy. Therefore, each session remains flexible, non-directive, and tailored to individual needs. Clients quickly feel safe and respected. Muriel’s sessions allow space for individuals to explore emotions, uncover harmful patterns, and begin to choose healthier paths forward.
Since 2022, Muriel has been a valued member of the therapy team at Priory Hospital Woking. She provides both individual and group therapy as part of the general mental health and addiction programmes. Working within this structured environment allows her to deliver care that is both effective and deeply human.
Moreover, she integrates creative techniques to enhance therapeutic engagement. Her drama therapy tools often help clients connect to their inner experiences in powerful and symbolic ways.
Muriel has trained in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with the Compassionate Mind Foundation and completed specialised education in working with personality disorders through the Hertfordshire NHS Foundation Trust. These trainings enhance her ability to work with complex cases.
She holds an MA in Dramatherapy from the University of Roehampton and a BA (Hons) in English and Drama. In addition to English, Muriel offers therapy in French, further widening access to support.
Muriel provides support for a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
Anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder

For clients struggling with addiction, she offers therapy for:
