Jennifer Parkes Occupational Therapy Doncaster offers caring and professional support for people recovering from neurological conditions. Jenni brings over 25 years of NHS experience to her role, helping people rebuild independence and improve their daily lives.
Jenni is a registered Occupational Therapist with a BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy. She currently works with a community stroke team in Doncaster. Each day, she helps people assess their strengths and rebuild skills after life-changing events. She works closely with individuals and families to create goals that make sense in the real world.
Jenni specialises in neurological rehabilitation, which includes stroke recovery, brain injury, spinal injuries, and conditions like multiple sclerosis. She offers hands-on help with upper limb therapy, splinting, and cognitive skills. As a result, clients get practical support where it matters most—at home and in the community.
Because Jenni works in the community, she visits people at home. This allows her to assess real challenges in real spaces. Whether someone wants to return to work, start driving again, or enjoy hobbies, she offers clear steps forward. Her approach is always focused on what matters to the individual.
Jenni has spent most of her 25-year NHS career helping people recover after a stroke. During that time, she has worked in both hospitals and home settings. She builds safe, tailored care plans that bring together different services, making the process smooth and supportive for each client.
In addition to her clinical role, Jenni mentors students and teaches other therapists. For over 20 years, she has supported learning at every level. She also runs in-house training on cognitive recovery, splinting, and return-to-driving assessments.
Jenni has completed training in many key areas. These include safe handling, postural care, and upper limb splinting. She also trained in brain injury recovery with BrainTree and vision assessment through Liverpool University. This ongoing learning helps her offer the most up-to-date care.
