Jack Garlovsky Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist Sheffield offers expert neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation for children and young people. He brings over a decade of specialist experience across both NHS and private settings. He is passionate about improving outcomes for young individuals with neurological, developmental, or acquired brain conditions.

Expertise in Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychology

Jack holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sheffield and a BPS Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (Paediatrics). He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and appears on the Specialist Register for Clinical Neuropsychologists with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

He focuses on epilepsy, brain injury, neurosurgery outcomes, systemic interventions, cognitive rehabilitation, and memory challenges in children. His clinical base is in Sheffield, serving families across the city and surrounding areas.

Experience in NHS and Specialist Neuroscience Services

Jack has worked across several NHS neuroscience centres in the UK. Previously, he served as a Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, delivering care within both neurological and neurodevelopmental services.

His work covered a wide range of presentations: epilepsy, acquired brain injury, neuro-oncology, neuromuscular disorders, stroke, systemic illness, autism, ADHD, and cerebral palsy. This diverse background gives him a broad understanding of how to support each child in their unique context.

Currently, Jack leads neuropsychology services at Leeds Children’s Hospital while also offering independent assessments and interventions. He ensures every child receives tailored support that fits both their goals and their family’s needs.

Supporting Young People Through Systemic Rehabilitation

Jack believes effective rehabilitation includes all systems surrounding the young person—family, school, health, and community. This collaborative approach ensures interventions are realistic, goal-oriented, and sustainable. His mission is always to help young people unlock their full potential.

Teaching, Research, and Leadership

Jack actively teaches and mentors future professionals at the University of Sheffield, University College London, and University of Leeds. He leads lectures on topics like epilepsy, assessment, and functional presentations in neuropsychology. He also supports MSc and Doctoral students in their research and placements.

Beyond clinical and academic work, Jack oversees a strategic supervision review for psychological professions across South Yorkshire NHS ICB.

Ongoing Professional Development and Research

Continuous professional development is key to Jack’s practice. He attends expert groups in paediatric neuropsychology, epilepsy, and neuro-oncology, and regularly peer-reviews scientific research. His own research explores cognitive outcomes and neuropsychological interventions for children with complex neurological conditions.
