If you need to access our services, your general practitioner (GP) or medical professional will need to send a referral to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Neurosurgery Brisbane. After receiving your referral, we will either schedule an appointment directly or add you to a waiting list, depending on availability. If there is a waiting list, you will be notified about the next steps. If there is no wait, we’ll contact you promptly to arrange your appointment.
If surgery is recommended after your consultation, you will be placed on a surgical waiting list. Some patients may need to visit our Pre-admission Clinic before surgery. During this visit, we will review your medical history and ensure that you are fully prepared for the procedure.
Before coming for your surgery, please bring:

Any current medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal)
Relevant medical scans and test results
