Abisayo Adekeye Psychological Therapist Oxford is a trusted name in evidence-based mental health treatment. She works with individuals across a wide range of age groups, focusing primarily on mood disorders. From her early beginnings in Birmingham Talking Therapies to her current clinical work, Abisayo provides effective and client-centred therapy.
She joined Priory in 2019, bringing with her rich experience in both group and individual sessions. Her approach goes beyond standard CBT. She integrates tools from third-wave cognitive behavioural therapies such as ACT, CFT, BA, and DBT. This ensures a tailored experience for every client.
Abisayo’s main modality is cognitive behavioural therapy. However, she also uses mindfulness-based strategies to enhance outcomes. By incorporating techniques like compassion-focused therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy, her sessions remain both structured and emotionally supportive.
Moreover, she has completed enhanced CBT training at the Centre of Research for Eating Disorders. This additional expertise allows her to support clients with complex needs, especially those facing eating disorders.
Abisayo holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham. She earned her Postgraduate Diploma in CBT with distinction. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Coventry and Warwick Universities.
She continuously invests in training. Recently, she undertook advanced DBT skills training and has progressed in her Applied CBT certification for Children and Adolescents at the BPS in London.
Abisayo maintains a strong research interest in cognitive neuropsychology. Her current thesis explores how certain autistic traits might contribute to mood disorder development. She’s committed to translating research into practical, therapeutic value.
Clients often arrive in distress, and Abisayo approaches each session with empathy and clarity. She prioritises building strong therapeutic alliances. This bond helps her clients reconnect with their strengths and move beyond their symptoms.
Working with both children and adults, she individualises each treatment plan. Her aim is always to meet the person where they are, offering both structure and flexibility.
