Active Care Chiropractic York

About

Active Care Chiropractic has served the York community since 2008. Chiropractor Philip Baines founded the clinic to deliver people-focused care. In 2015, the practice moved to its current location at 238 Melrosegate. The clinic offers a friendly, welcoming space designed to help every patient feel relaxed and supported.

At Active Care, chiropractic care goes beyond spinal adjustments. While manipulation is a key element, the team also offers a range of treatments that address the whole body. These techniques aim to restore movement, relieve pain, and promote long-term health. Whether you are an athlete or someone returning to activity, the clinic provides care tailored to your lifestyle and needs.

Importantly, the team focuses on creating a calm and professional environment. Every aspect of the clinic supports patient comfort and confidence, from the reception area to the treatment rooms.

Services

Active Care Chiropractic offers a wide range of techniques that support recovery, injury prevention, and physical performance. These include:

  • Graston Technique® – A form of soft tissue therapy using specialised instruments.

  • Active Release Technique – Known as the gold standard in soft tissue injury treatment.

  • FAKTR – A functional movement-based approach, ideal for treating athletes.

  • Myofascial Dry Needling – Also known as medical acupuncture, this reduces muscle tension and pain.

  • Manipulation (Adjustment) – A traditional chiropractic technique used to improve spinal function.

  • Exercise Prescription – Customised exercise plans for rehabilitation and prevention.

  • PhotoBioModulation / Laser Therapy – Light therapy that uses red and near-infrared light to aid healing.

Each treatment plan is tailored to your needs. The team works closely with you to create a personalised path to better health.
