Ajoy Bardhan Dermatologist Birmingham delivers expert, compassionate skin care at Harborne Hospital in Edgbaston. He trained in London, Cambridge, and the West Midlands. After years of rigorous preparation, he accepted a consultant position at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB). UHB operates one of the largest dermatology departments in the country. Every day, Dr. Bardhan helps patients with both common and complex skin problems.
Dr. Bardhan completed his medical degree at Imperial College London. He pursued an intercalated BSc in Haematological Sciences. Following that, he trained in internal medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He then specialised in dermatology in the West Midlands.
Importantly, he also completed a fellowship in Epidermolysis Bullosa at UHB. This nationally commissioned service sees some of the most fragile and rare skin conditions. In 2019, he became a full-time consultant. Since then, he has provided outstanding care in skin lesion clinics, surgery, and inflammatory skin disease management.
Dr. Bardhan also serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on inherited skin fragility disorders, particularly Epidermolysis Bullosa. He actively combines scientific discovery with patient-centred care. Furthermore, he presents his work nationally and internationally.
He also mentors students and doctors in training. In every academic setting, he strives to bring evidence directly into clinical care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bardhan holds key leadership roles. He serves as Clinical Director of Dermatology at Solihull Hospital. This unit is the largest in the Midlands.
Moreover, he plays an active role in national dermatology governance. He is Secretary of the Midland Dermatology Society and a member of the Executive Committee of the British Association of Dermatologists. He also contributes to the Skin Genetics steering committee and has served on the Therapeutics & Guidelines committee.
Patients choose Ajoy Bardhan Dermatologist Birmingham for accurate diagnosis and tailored treatments. He treats a full range of skin concerns—from acne and eczema to skin cancer and rare genetic disorders. He also offers mole checks, skin surgery, and cryotherapy.
