Alison McMullan Clinical Psychologist Edinburgh brings over 40 years of expertise in adult mental health. With a strong foundation in psychology, Alison offers clients a rich combination of clinical knowledge and compassionate care. She retired from the NHS in 2023 after a distinguished career, yet remains dedicated to helping people through private practice.
Alison has held numerous senior leadership roles across the NHS, third sector, and professional bodies. Throughout her career, she worked with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and diverse clinical teams in both inpatient and outpatient services. Her long-standing experience as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist ensures she brings practical insight to complex mental health needs.
As a Clinical Psychologist, Alison provides assessments, therapy, and medico-legal reports. She specialises in adult mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and work-related stress. In addition, she is fully qualified to carry out neurodevelopmental assessments, allowing her to offer a broader range of psychological support.
Alison’s main therapeutic method is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She also integrates Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy where needed.
