Ana Erra Chartered Clinical Psychologist London brings over a decade of experience to her therapeutic practice. She combines evidence-based psychology with creative arts therapy to provide clients with unique pathways to healing. As both a BPS Chartered Clinical Psychologist and HCPC-registered Arts Therapist, she offers a deeply integrated approach to mental health care.
With ten years of experience in both London and Portugal, Ana has worked across varied sectors including the NHS, schools, charities, and the Portuguese Police force. Thanks to this broad background, she brings a dynamic, adaptable method to her sessions.
Her client base includes children, adults, and older adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. Depending on individual needs, she provides either one-on-one or group therapy. In many cases, she weaves traditional talk therapy with creative arts techniques for a more holistic experience.
Because each client communicates differently, Ana creates a flexible and open environment. She encourages exploration through spoken word, movement, storytelling, and visual expression. As a result, clients often discover new ways to understand and process their emotions.
In parallel with her private practice, she supports a multi-ethnic counselling service and collaborates with a renowned child bereavement charity. Notably, she was part of the mental health support team serving the Grenfell community, further deepening her trauma-informed expertise.
Ana earned her BSc in Psychology and MA in Clinical Psychology from ISPA University Institute in Portugal. Later, she completed an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
In addition to her academic credentials, she trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Authentic Movement. This blend of traditional and expressive modalities equips her to address complex emotional issues through both verbal and non-verbal techniques.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Ana helps clients examine how they relate to others. This often uncovers hidden patterns that may be blocking emotional growth. Through collaboration, Ana and her clients work toward meaningful insight and positive change.
Moreover, Ana believes the therapeutic relationship is a powerful space for co-creating transformation. With trust, creativity, and focused attention, clients can move toward greater balance and clarity.
Her long-standing practice in yoga, mindfulness, and meditation across Europe and India continues to inform her therapeutic perspective. Because she values the mind-body connection, Ana integrates these disciplines to support healing on multiple levels.
She provides both brief and long-term therapy, always adapting her methods to suit the individual’s journey. Clients can choose between talking therapy, creative exploration, or a combination of both.
