We provide anaesthesia for:

• Major surgery (general surgery, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, obstetrics‑gynaecology)

• Minor procedures and examinations in ambulatory clinics, radiology, MR and X‑ray areas

• Emergency operations and acute care settings

• Obstetric deliveries

Key Units in Our Department

Operationsgangen

We have 16 operating theatres for large surgical procedures. We also assist in smaller operations and diagnostic tests across hospital areas.

Opvågningsafsnittet

This post‑anaesthesia care unit observes patients immediately after surgery until they are stable. It has 15 beds (including two single rooms), and operates round the clock. We also do nerve blocks, epidurals, central lines, and short‑term respiratory support here.

Intensiv Terapiafsnit (ITA)

ITA treats critically ill patients who need constant monitoring and often ventilator support. The unit provides care 24/7 and includes specialists who monitor heart‑lung function and fluid balance.

MAT (Mobilt Akut Team)

MAT performs urgent assessments throughout the hospital when patients’ conditions worsen. A specially trained anaesthesia nurse responds immediately; if needed, the on‑call intensivist joins the team.

Smerteklinikken

We assess and treat acute pain, especially following surgery. We create tailored pain‑relief plans. After discharge, patients can follow up ambulant or by phone.
